Eating and drinking is a vital part of the game. It is necessary to eat and drink to keep yourself alive. Eating and drinking will also replenish your blood and give you health back. Click here to learn about how much each item of food and rink replenishes your health. Keep in mind that depending on the food you find there may be a chance of food poisoning, this stuff isn't fresh anymore after all.
You can find food and drinks in houses and shops around the island. If you cannot find any you can also hunt animals and cook their meat on a fire. You can also fill up water bottles in lakes and wells and boil the water to avoid poisoning yourself.
Monitoring Your Food & Water
Your food and water levels are displayed by two icons located in the bottom right corner of the screen at all times. The flask icon represents your water level
and the knife and fork icon represents your food level . When your food and water levels are at maximum both icons will be full and green
. As your food and water levels go down the icons will begin turning yellow
and eventually red when the level becomes critical. When you consume food or fluid your food/water levels will begin to grow, when that happens three little arrows will be displayed next to the food/water icon

. You will also see three little arrows next to your blood icon meaning your blood (health) level is increasing.
Keep in mind that every type of food or liquid you consume has its own nutritious properties. Some types of food may replenish your hunger/water and blood levels quickly, some may take a few minutes. Some will replenish your food/water and blood levels more and some less. Some food items which are very dry or drinks that are very sweet may reduce your water level as they will make you thirsty, so keep that in mind too.
Also keep in mind that the food and drinks you find lying around are not fresh! These things could be lying there for months and even years so there may be a chance of food poisoning when you consume them. Click here to lean about food poisoning and how to cure it. You can also hunt animals and cook their meat, and collect water in to a flash and boil it which greatly reduces your risk of food poisoning as opposed to eating things you find.
